Centralised logging across a payment estate

Graylog deployed for an Indian multinational conglomerate, with exception capture on failed payments and alerting on top of it.

01 — The challenge

Where it started.

Log management could not surface security events, and payment problems were found by reading logs manually — usually after a customer had noticed.

Discrepancies, code faults and API errors were all diagnosed the same slow way, with no alerting to shorten the gap.

02 — What we built

The work itself.

Servers, network devices and applications. One pipeline collecting from the whole estate rather than from the systems that happened to be instrumented.

Exception logging on failed payments. Detective mode capturing the exception at the moment a payment fails, so the evidence exists before anyone goes looking for it.

Custom dashboards. Views built around the questions the team actually asks during an incident.

Real time, on what matters. Alerts tuned to the failure modes seen in practice rather than firing on every error level.

03 — Results

What the client has now.

Payment reliability improved through real-time analysis rather than retrospective reading. Root cause identified faster on payment issues, code bugs and API faults. Security events surfaced rather than discovered.
